The Donkey Kong Crush Float is a refreshing ice cream float served in Super Nintendo World at the new Universal’s Epic Universe theme park. It’s priced at $18.99 and comes in a collectible Donkey Kong barrel cup, giving you a sweet dessert and a fun souvenir all in one. But if you’d rather skip the theme park prices, I’ll show you how to make this dessert at home so you can enjoy it anytime and save some money too.

If pineapple Fanta isn’t available near you, Crush makes a pineapple soda that works just as well. Many store brands also carry their own version of pineapple soda, so you have options.
For the toffee topping, I used the Heath toffee bits with chocolate, usually found in the baking aisle near the chocolate chips. You can also crush up Heath bars or any other chocolate-covered toffee candy as a substitute.
To make the float, you’ll also need a food processor, a rubber spatula, and a wide straw for easy sipping.
🐵 How to Make the DK Crush Float
Use a sharp knife to make a small hole in the bottom of the waffle bowl, just large enough to fit the straw. I found it easiest to gently jab the tip of the knife into the bottom and break off small pieces rather than trying to cut a perfect hole. Once the hole is made, set the bowl aside.
Add the frozen bananas and pineapple to a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy, like soft-serve ice cream. You’ll likely need to pause a few times to scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula.
If the mixture isn’t blending well, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk to help it along—but be careful not to overdo it or the texture may become too soft.
Pour the pineapple Fanta into a cup. Carefully place the waffle bowl on top and insert the straw through the hole. Fill the bowl with the pineapple-banana soft serve, then sprinkle with caramel popcorn and toffee bits.
The bottom of the waffle bowl will dissolve fairly quickly, allowing the soft serve to mix with the soda. If you’re feeling impatient, you can help it along by breaking through the base with your straw.
This recipe is easy to double or triple as needed, so everyone in the family can enjoy.

- ⅓ cup frozen pineapple chunks
- 1 waffle bowl
- 1 cup pineapple Fanta soda
- 2 tablespoons caramel popcorn
- 1 tablespoon toffee bits
Instructions
- Use a sharp knife to make a small hole in the bottom of the waffle bowl. It should be big enough to fit a wide-width straw. I found it easiest to jab the tip of the knife into the bowl to break off pieces instead of cutting the hole out. Set the bowl aside.
- Put the frozen bananas and pineapple in a food processor and blend into a smooth soft-serve consistency. You will need to stop the food processor several times to scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula.
- Put the pineapple Fanta in a cup. Place the waffle bowl on top and add the straw. Fill the bowl with the pineapple-banana soft serve and top with caramel popcorn and toffee bits.
