To make this soft boiled egg air fryer recipe, simply put 2-3 eggs in the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes at 270 degrees Fahrenheit (132 degrees Celsius). After cooking, use tongs to plunge the eggs in ice water to cool them quickly. They are easy to peel (though very fresh eggs may still be hard to peel, as per usual).

This will get you delicious eggs for breakfast that have a solid white and runny yolk. You don’t even need to preheat the air fryer to air fry soft boiled egg. It’s so nice that the only ingredients you need for air fryer soft eggs are large eggs and a bowl of cold water!

I tested this recipe in two air fryers, and the air frying time was the same in each. Use the top rack near the heat source if you’re cooking in an air fryer oven.

You can make Ninja Foodi soft boiled eggs, or use a Cosori, Pampered Chef Air Fryer, Actifry, Nuwave, Instant Vortex, Cuisinart, Philips, Power Air Fryer, etc. However, you may need to adjust the air frying time depending on the air fryer you use. Air fryers all cook a little differently, unlike with ovens.

These instructions are the easiest way to make soft boiled eggs I’ve tried. You don’t even need to dirty pots or pans! I know you’re going to love making cooked eggs this way for a quick breakfast or a snack.

I found through air fryer testing that the best temp for air fryer boiled eggs is 270F (132C). Please keep in mind that all air fryers cook differently, so experiment with cooking at 200 degrees, 300 degrees, etc. to find the perfect temperature.

Can you cook soft boiled eggs in the air fryer at 150 degrees?

Maybe. I found 150C (300F) slightly too high to make air fryer soft boiled eggs. However, this temp might work for you since air fryers don’t cook consistently between the different air fryer sizes and brands.

Can you air fry eggs at 400 degrees?

No, I find that 400F (200C) is too high for most air fryer egg recipes. If you want fried eggs in air fryer, 375F (190C) is my recommended air frying temp.

Do you need water to boil an egg in an air fryer?

No, you do not need water to boil an egg in the air fryer. You can cook whole shell eggs in an air fryer without water to get the same results as a boiled egg. That said, it’s nice to have ice water on hand to cool the eggs after air frying.

Is it safe to boil eggs in air fryer?

It’s not a good idea to boil eggs with water in an air fryer because it doesn’t work well and takes a long time. Luckily, you can get eggs that look boiled by popping them in an air fryer without the water. Air fryers are better suited for dry cooking methods, such as baking and frying.
