Pressure Cooker Recipes
The recipes that follow are for the Instant Pot or multipurpose cooker. The pressure-cooking function on this appliance is perfect for cooking tough meats, dried beans, and grains fast. Most of the dishes in this section are pressure cooker recipes, but a few use multicooker functions that don’t involve pressure.
For example, multicookers are great for making yogurt. They can hold the milk steady at a lower temperature than even the low setting on most slow cookers (AKA crockpots).
Speaking of slow cookers, if you are trying to choose between purchasing a crockpot and an Instant Pot, I’d go with an Instant Pot.
You can make any of the slow cooker recipes on this website with a multipurpose cooker. However, you cannot make pressure cooker recipes in a slow cooker. Multipurpose cookers may cost more than slow cookers, but they can also do a lot more.
There is an Instant Pot brand of multipurpose cookers, but I’ve been very happy with my Crock-Pot brand multicooker. (Yes, “crock pot” is also a colloquial term for “slow cooker,” which can make things confusing.) The multipurpose cooker I’ve been using for these recipes is the Crock-Pot express crock multi-cooker (affiliate link):
This cooker is reasonably priced and not difficult to use. I would recommend it if you want to add this appliance to your kitchen. Mine has a 6-quart capacity, but I’d consider the 8-quart multi-cooker if you have a larger family.
