For these reheating pizza experiments, I’m using a large pepperoni pizza from Domino’s with a hand-tossed crust. This crust is not super crispy, but the air fryer and oven will crisp it up more. If you don’t like crispy pizza crust, try the microwave or stovetop method.

To reheat thin crust pizza slices, you will need to subtract a few minutes from the reheating time.

🍕 How to Reheat Domino’s Pizza in Oven

What is the best temperature to reheat pizza in the oven? An oven preheated to 350F (177C) is the best temperature for reheating Dominos pizza. Reheat the pizza for 8 minutes for a softer crust, or 10 minutes for a crisper slice.

Place the pizza on a baking sheet on an oven rack 1/3 down from the top of the oven to reheat.

I also tested reheating Domino’s pizza in the oven at 275F (135C), but wasn’t happy with the results. It took a lot longer than reheating pizza at a higher temp and did not result in a softer crust.

A benefit of reheating leftover pizza in the oven is you can reheat a whole pizza if needed. The major downside is that this method takes the longest between preheating the oven and actually heating the cold pizza. So, let’s try some faster reheating methods…

Reheat Dominos Pizza in Toaster Oven

Reheat Domino’s pizza in the toaster oven for 3-5 minutes at 400F (200C). You do need to preheat the toaster oven. This is a good way to crisp up leftover pizza crust if that’s your preference.

The disadvantage of this method is it gives similar results to the air fryer, but the air fryer doesn’t need preheating. Additionally, you can’t reheat a whole pizza at once in a small toaster oven.

Best Way to Heat Up Cold Pizza

What’s the best way to reheat Domino’s pizza? IMVHO, the air fryer is the best way to reheat pizza. In fact, I have another article about it here: reheat pizza in air fryer

The air fryer is the fastest way to reheat pizza outside of the microwave. It’s also great at making pizza crust crispy again, if that’s what you want. The main con of using a small air fryer basket is that you can’t reheat a whole pizza (unless you have a large air fryer oven).

🏆 Reheat Domino’s Pizza in Air Fryer

How long to reheat Domino’s pizza in air fryer? You can reheat Domino’s pizza in an air fryer set to 400F (200C) for 3-5 minutes. Thin crust pizza slices only take about 3 minutes, while thick slices take around 5 minutes.

🔥 Reheating Domino’s Pizza Microwave

The Domino’s Australia website published a pizza hack where they reheated their pizza in the microwave for 30 seconds with a cup of water. They say that crispiness is not guaranteed.

Does putting a glass of water in the microwave with pizza work? While the Domino’s trick worked to heat the pizza, it was my least favorite method for reheating pizza. It doesn’t crisp foods at all, and there’s a risk that certain pizzas could end up with soggy slices with the microwave method.

That said, the microwave is certainly the fastest method if you’re in a hurry. If the lunchroom at your work only has a microwave, at least you can make your leftover Domino’s hot.

💡 Reheat Domino’s Pizza in Skillet

One final way to reheat Domino’s pizza is to use a cast iron skillet on the stovetop. Simply heat the pan over low heat, add the pizza slice and cover, and let it cook for 5-10 minutes. This method is good for keeping the pizza base free from sogginess.

A disadvantage of this method is it doesn’t crisp the crust (if that’s what you want). Also, it takes a little longer than air frying leftovers.

💭 Expert Tips from Dietitian Summer Yule

This is a level 3 recipe (weight maintenance and active lifestyles). In general, thin crust pizzas with just cheese or cheese and veggies are the lightest options. That said, if pizza is only an occasional treat, choosing your favorite toppings can make the meal feel more special. Domino’s has a lot of specialty pizzas (like the tasty ExtravaganZZa) and options for customizations so you can design the perfect pizza for your family.
