Air fryer chicken fries are the ultimate time-saving hack for a snack or quick dinner favorite. Simply grab your favorite brand of frozen chicken sticks—like Tyson Anytizers, Kidfresh, Weaver Chicken Tenders, or any you love—pop them in the air fryer, cook them to crispy perfection, and serve with your go-to dipping sauce. It’s that easy!

Be sure to check the packing of your chicken fries to make sure that they are fully cooked. If they are not, you should make sure they reach a minimum safe internal temperature of 165F (74C).
How Long to Cook Chicken Fries in an Air Fryer
Place the frozen chicken fries in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 8 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200C), flipping or shaking the basket after 4 minutes. The chicken breading should be nice and crispy.
Keep in mind all air fryers cook a little differently. Your air fryer might require a slightly longer or shorter cooking time than my Ninja.
Let the chicken fries rest for 1-2 minutes (they are HOT) and serve with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy this easy appetizer that even picky eaters tend to love!
How to Serve Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Fries
I like to serve other dippable finger foods, particularly veggies, with chicken sticks. Here are a few ideas:
- Cherry tomatoes or grape tomatoes
- Carrot sticks
- Snow peas or sugar snap peas
- Broccoli or cauliflower florets
- Strips of cucumber
- Strips of sweet bell peppers
- Celery sticks
- Air Fryer Jicama Fries
Alternatively, try some cooked veggies on the side like Air Fryer Whole Carrots or this Air Fryer Butternut Squash.

💭 Expert Tips from Dietitian Summer Yule
This is a level 3 recipe (weight maintenance and active lifestyles). To turn this appetizer into a meal, I’d add a glass of milk for additional protein and calcium plus some veggie side dishes. Breaded proteins and breaded veggies are (sometimes) more appealing to picky eaters than plain protein and veggies. Add a favorite sauce for dipping, and you may find the person willing to try types of food they typically avoid. How optimal a particular food choice is almost always comes down to an individual’s food preferences, personal health goals, budget, and medical needs. These chicken strips have a high breading-to-chicken ratio. That means that they are relatively high in calories compared to the protein they provide. If you want a chicken entree that may be more supportive of weight loss, try a chicken dish without breading such as my air fryer marinated chicken. Nutrition information is for one serving of 8 chicken fries without dip. Nutrition info will vary depending on the brand of chicken fries you use and your serving size.
