♨️ How to Make Sizzling Brownie without Sizzler Plate
What can you use instead of a sizzling plate? If you don’t have a sizzler brownie plate, use a small cast iron skillet to make a brownie that sizzles! Here are the step-by-step instructions to make the best chocolate brownie with ice cream:
- If using a mix, make brownies according to the box directions. I used an 8×8-inch pan to make the brownies and I needed oil and eggs to make the batter. After the brownies cool, cut a square to use in your sizzling brownie.
- Heat a small (8-inch/20cm) cast iron pan over medium heat on the stove for 5-10 minutes. Quickly add the brownie slice, drizzle with chocolate sauce to get the sizzling effect, and then top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Serve immediately, and enjoy!
Remember to be careful- the skillet is hot! Put a heat protective pad or trivet on the table if you’ll be serving the brownie straight from the hot skillet. Dust the brownie dessert with cocoa powder or sprinkle with chocolate chips for an extra festive touch.
Leftovers of the sizzling brownie don’t keep well, as the ice cream will melt and make the brownie soggy. However, you can make the brownies ahead and keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
Alternatively, put the brownies in a freezer bag with the air pressed out in the freezer for longer-term storage. Reheat brownies in the microwave for 30-60 seconds on high.
